Direct Commodity Manager

Tasks

  • Definition of strategic ambitions for commodity groups and identification of relevant stakeholders
  • Collection of price indications, forecast data, commodity group specifications, and required technologies derived from the Technology roadmap
  • Analysis of expenditures, contract information, basic conditions, and supplier performance
  • Setting commodity group goals and defining the commodity group strategy
  • Definition of optimization measures and supplier strategies
  • Improvement of contract coverage and definition of risk strategies
  • Creation and approval of implementation plans
  • Communication and implementation of the strategy
  • Responsibility for strategy implementation and promotion of localization approaches / Regional Sourcing
  • Planning and responsibility of the MPI, conducting annual/regular negotiation initiatives commercially
  • Ensuring legal frameworks, such as negotiation of Frame Supply Agreements, etc.
  • Conducting negotiations and initiating Cost Engineering / Value Engineering
  • Definition of supply concepts (e.g., VMI, safety stocks)
  • Ensuring compliance with compliance and sustainability guidelines
  • Regular Management Business Reviews / Management of supplier partnerships.
  • Definition of award concepts

Required qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Engineering/Business administration field
  • Fluent English is a must, German is an advantage

  • 5-8 years of experience within strategic Purchasing preferably in a technology-oriented industrial environment
  • Good knowledge of common MS Office applications as well as experience with SAP/R3, Analysis for Office
  • Fluent English is a must, German is an advantage
