Lead Engineer - Component Database & Engineering Interface

Tasks

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of two specialists, ensuring high-quality delivery and continuous capability development
  • Own the end-to-end governance process for the introduction, evaluation, and standardization of electronic components
  • Define and maintain a preferred-parts and reuse strategy to reduce unnecessary component diversity and improve platform consistency
  • Act as a senior technical advisor to engineering teams on component selection, qualification, alternatives, and design trade-offs
  • Ensure balanced decision-making across technical performance, lifecycle risk, availability, dual sourcing, and total cost of ownership
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, Purchasing, Quality, and Suppliers
  • Monitor market and supplier developments to proactively manage obsolescence and supply risks
  • Continuously improve component-related processes, governance standards, and decision criteria

Required qualifications

University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a comparable technical field

Advantages

Requirements for the candidate

  • University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, or a comparable technical field
  • Several years of professional experience in electronic components, component qualification, and lifecycle or risk management
  • Proven experience in leading or guiding expert teams
  • Strong technical expertise with the ability to advise engineering teams and management
  • Fluent English (written and spoken)
  • Strong leadership and coaching skills with a hands-on, solution-oriented mindset
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to influence decisions across functions and act as a trusted technical partner
  • Strategic thinking combined with operational execution capability
  • Proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation (e.g., obsolescence, supply continuity)
  • Structured, analytical mindset and strong decision-making capabilities
