Senior FPGA / Hardware Development Engineer

Tasks

  • FPGA Development
  • • You will be responsible for the architecture and implementation of FPGA components.
  • • Your tasks will include implementing high-performance video-processing pipelines in FPGA logic.
  • • You will develop backend interfaces for high-speed communication, for example Ethernet-based systems.
  • • You will implement and integrate compression algorithms into vision systems.
  • System Development
  • • You will contribute to the development of system architectures for vision cameras.
  • • You will analyse and select suitable key components beyond the FPGA.
  • • You will support the development and standardization of transmission protocols.

Required qualifications

B.Sc. degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field

Requirements for the candidate

  • You have successfully completed a degree in electrical engineering, computer science, embedded systems or a comparable field and have at least three years of relevant professional experience.
  • In addition to strong knowledge of FPGA architectures, you have solid practical experience with VHDL.
  • You are experienced with FPGA development tools and version control, such as Quartus, Vivado, Efinity, ModelSim, Python scripting, unit testing and Git.
  • You are familiar with the FPGA market landscape and relevant semiconductor vendors.
  • You have experience in image and video processing.
  • You can read and understand schematics and support the creation of FPGA-based hardware designs.
  • You have experience with measurement equipment and lab-based debugging.
  • You have basic knowledge of embedded software and firmware development in C/C++.
  • Experience with industrial vision standards is an advantage.
  • You understand high-speed communication interfaces such as Ethernet, USB, PCIe or MIPI CSI-2.
  • You are highly motivated to learn and interested in new technologies.
  • You work independently and with a strong solution-oriented mindset.
  • You are a strong team player with very good communication skills in German and English.
