Cost Engineer

Feladatkör

  • Conduct detailed cost analyses and identify cost-saving potential in products, projects, processes, and with suppliers
  • Develop, implement, and continuously improve cost engineering methods and processes within the Balluff Group
  • Monitor and maintain savings lists, ensuring the implementation of identified measures
  • Conduct workshops and training sessions to embed cost engineering within the Balluff Group
  • Support the purchasing department in the preparation, execution, and follow-up of negotiations
  • Ensure transparency in cost structures and cost-saving potential.
  • Provide precise and traceable economic cost calculations and models.
  • Implement savings lists and monitor measures.
  • Support the change management process to integrate cost engineering into the company culture.
  • Facilitate and moderate value engineering workshops to improve key product functions while identifying cost-saving opportunities.
  • Propose optimizations for processes and products and, if needed, prioritize measures.
  • Continuously assess savings potential and provide decision-making recommendations to management.
  • Initiate and lead workshops and interdisciplinary meetings within the scope of cost engineering
  • Analyse supplier quotations critically and derive negotiation strategies in collaboration with purchasing.
  • Support make-or-buy decisions and cost-based sourcing strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of cost models for new technologies and future production methods.

Szükséges képzettség

Completed studies in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a comparable field.

Előnyt jelent

German language skills are desirable.

Elvárások a jelölttel szemben

  • Several years of experience in consulting positions and several years of solid experience in the production, manufacturing, and/or assembly of mechanical and/or electrical/electronical products.
  • Technical understanding of manufacturing processes and practical experience in the production of mechanical and electronic components.
  • Solid knowledge of cost analysis, value analysis, and the application of modern cost engineering methods (e.g., Should-Costing, Target Costing, Design-to-Cost).
  • Experience in interdisciplinary collaboration, especially with the purchasing, development, and production departments.
  • Analytical and structured thinking, as well as strong communication and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency in English and willingness to travel
  • Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) and advanced skills in MS Excel or other cost calculation tools.
  • High level of initiative, resilience, and solution-oriented working style.
